Disney Just Brought Back a Perk That’s Been MISSING for Years!

By admin May9,2024

BIG DOIN’S, y’all! We got another little perk back in Disney World, but you’ll need to trade some of your precious vacation time to get it!

Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom

So, you know how Disney offers the Disney Vacation Club, which is basically Disney’s version of a timeshare program? Well, a perk that we haven’t seen in several years is BACK for anyone interested in taking a tour of the DVC “show rooms” in Disney World!

Disney Vacation Planner

Here’s a little background on DVC for ya, just in case you aren’t familiar with the whole sitch. If you wanna buy in, you purchase an annual allotment of points (that renews each year) to a specific Disney resort, and along with it you get special benefits like exclusive lounges in the parks, special events, and discounts. DVC resorts span the globe from Disney World to Disneyland to Hawaii and more.

A DVC membership can be great, but with annual fees, small print, and lots of pros and cons, there is certainly a lot that goes into making such a big investment. And if you want to learn a little more about it, then Disney has brought back a little incentive for ya that hasn’t been around in quite a while —  gift cards for taking a tour!

Riviera Resort

There are several DVC sales kiosks all over Disney World, and when we visited one recently, a Cast Member mentioned that you may be eligible to receive a $50 Disney gift card (per party) for taking a DVC sales tour. Now you may also receive an email offer for a larger gift card if you tour during your stay — it just depends on which offer you receive. To be eligible, you must be staying at a Disney World resort hotel other than the Swan, Dolphin, or Swan Reserve.

Current DVC members are not eligible for the $50 gift card. However, if you are a current member and interested in a tour, a separate one is offered for you — you just don’t get the prize at the end (sorry)!

So, if you’re interested at all in DVC and have a little extra time in your vacay to hand over to the sales rep, a $50 gift card prize could be in your future. Plus, you can get some great information on a DVC membership if you are considering one anyway. (You can also check out our entire Disney Vacation Club page for lots of great details!) The Cast Member did not say how many times you can do the tours for the gift cards.

Saratoga Springs Resort

Just a reminder that the gift cards are given out per party, not per person, but it’s still $50 to spend however you like at any Disney location! It has been many years since Disney has given out “prizes” for taking their DVC tours, so this is an exciting little perk that has just recently returned. We hope you enjoy your tour, if you choose to check it out!
