There are many ways to change this recipe once you master the base. Here are a few ideas:

  • Add a 1/4 cup fresh pesto for a basil hummus
  • add 2 Tbsp Harissa for a spicy red pepper hummus
  • Add a whole avocado and a bit of avocado oil for an avocado hummus
  • Add a chunk of lemon for a preserved lemon hummus
  • Add a 1/3 cup of chopped black or green olives on the top of your hummus when plating for an olive hummus
  • Add 1/4 cup of dill pickle juice and 2 Tbsp fresh dill for dill pickle hummus
