The First Descendant Weapon Proficiency

When you eventually gather some decent weapons for your characters, you’re going to want to pay close attention to the weapon proficiency. This proficiency level determines the power of your weapon, as well as how many modules it can hold. It can also increase your Mastery EXP, thus levelling up your overall Mastery Rank.

By increasing the proficiency of a weapon, you can assign additional module slots with a variety of socket types. Keep in mind that you do need another item to apply these sockets, most notably the Crystallization Catalyst. Once you assign a new module to a weapon, the proficiency level resets, and goes back down to 1.

I suggest only bothering with the weapon proficiency level when you have Rare and Ultimate weapons. Grinding out the levels for Standard or Common weapons isn’t worth it, in my opinion.

How to Increase Weapon Proficiency

The only way we’ve found so far is to use the weapon! It may seem obvious, but just equipping and using the weapon in missions increases the EXP. The more EXP you earn for your weapon, the higher the proficiency level will be.

Just make sure you’re increasing the weapon proficiency for a weapon you actually like, otherwise, it’s a huge waste of time. It’s going to take a while to get to the max proficiency level for a weapon, so be patient, and grind out those missions!
