The Princess and the Frog-themed water ride is set to open to everyone on June 28th, 2024 after sets of previews for exclusive groups of Disney fans. Since construction started in early 2023, we’ve been anxiously waiting for the day we got to experience the attraction…and that day is here! We previously got a sneak peek at the animatronics, new characters, queue details, and more, but just as we were getting in line for previews so we could bring you the first-hand experience of this new ride, something unfortunate happened!
Today, June 3rd, we were getting ready to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for the very first time! The new ride tells a brand new story that takes place after the ending of The Princess and the Frog. We have been looking forward to going on this adventure with Tiana to find her missing ingredient, a band, for her Mardi Gras party for a while now. We made it to Magic Kingdom and were headed to get in line when we noticed that the ride appeared closed, but the music just started back up again, so we thought we were in the clear.

Unfortunately, that was not the case. As we were approaching the entrance to the queue, it was announced that the ride was closed, and we were not able to get in the queue!

It turned out that they were in fact evacuating the ride, which we were able to see happening outside. Cast Members who were on the ride for previews, were taken off the logs to be escorted off the ride. We had noticed something similar happening yesterday, June 2nd, during other sets of previews. It is possible that these evacuations were part of evacuation training for the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Cast Members with other Magic Kingdom Cast Members on the ride.

We were shortly told that we could come back to the line entrance where we have been hanging out waiting to find out if we’ll get to ride soon. We will keep you updated as we find out if we can ride the new attraction today!
Planning to ride when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens at Disney World. There are two ways to do so. You can either purchase Genie+ and make a Lightning Lane reservation for the attraction, or you can join the Virtual Queue at 7AM or 1PM.
