REVIEW: Is It Worth Ditching EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion for This NEW Drink in Disney World?

Ah, EPCOT. Home to an entire World Showcase full of great food, drinks, and Cast Members from all over the world. It’s one of our favorite parts of the park! But let’s be real. Everyone already knows about the hot spots in EPCOT. We’re talking places like La Cava del Tequila, Rose & Crown, and Via Napoli. We don’t need to tell you about the margaritas at the Mexico Pavilion. Judging by the lines we see every day, everyone seems to know that Mexico is the place to be.

EPCOT

But there are actually other places to get a drink in EPCOT outside of the World Showcase. For example, you can stop by the Space 220 Lounge for some out-of-this-world drinks (we apologize for the pun). In fact, even EPCOT’s quick-service restaurant, Connections Eatery, serves cocktails, but how does the NEW option compare to our old favorites?

Connections Eatery has a new Spicy Peach Cocktail for $16. It’s made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps Liqueur, Peach Purée, Spicy Mango Syrup, Flavors of Lime Juice, and Chili-Lime Seasoning. Vodka, peach, AND mago?! We’re in.

Spicy Peach Cocktail

OK, well, Disney. You had us, and then you lost us. We tasted the peach flavor right away, and this cocktail is nice and sweet, but we did not pick up on that mango at all. In fact, it really just tasted like we were drinking straight peach syrup.

Here’s a look at the spices inside!

Given the fact that this comes from EPCOT’s quick-service location, we have a feeling this is probably a pre-mixed drink that is made in large batches. In other words, don’t expect any fine, handcrafted cocktails from a fast-food restaurant meant to serve hundreds of people per day. The Tajín sprinkled on top of our drink was the final nail in the coffin here. It added a nice kick of spice, but ultimately, everything just fell flat.

At $16, we recommend sticking to the drinks you can get in the EPCOT World Showcase instead. There are MUCH better drinks at the Mexico Pavilion (we like the Crystal Inferno from La Cava del Tequila). Was it the worst drink ever? No. But the syrupy peach flavor just didn’t work for us.

In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
