Egg Nog Christmas Croissant Casserole

This is a sweet treat on Christmas morning. Don't skimp on the fresh nutmeg as the garnigh

Ingredients

  • 10 breakfast croissants torn into 4-5 pieces
  • 1 1/3 cup of eggnog
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkpin pie spice
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 4 oz log of honey flavored goat cheese cut into 10 pieces
  • fresh nutmeg and syrup to garnish

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees

    Whisk together eggnog, pumpkin pie spice, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl.

    Well-grease a 9 x 13 baking pan. Layer in torn croissants to cover the whole pan. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants until all the bread has been moistened.

    Tuck in the sliced cream cheese into pockets of the croissants.

    Bake for 30 minutes, covered with aluminum foil. Remove the foil after 30 minutes, and cook another 10 minutes until the bread turns golden.

    Remove from heat, garnish, and serve with fresh nutmeg grated over the top and syrup
