If you know us, you know we’ll forever sing the praises of the food at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is SEVERELY underrated.
Animal Kingdom
First, you know we’re going to talk ALL DAY LONG about Cheeseburger Pods and how everyone needs to know just how good Nomad Lounge is. But we’re also going to send you to Flame Tree BBQ for the Pulled Pork Fries (even if the onion rings have been replaced with fried onions). However, we’re also BIG fans of the Baked Mac and Cheese at Eight Spoon Cafe, but Disney just literally upgraded that Mac and Cheese and made it better.
So we were just perusing menus at Animal Kingdom, like we do, looking for anything new and interesting, and we noticed that Eight Spoon Cafe has just added Barbacoa Beef on Alfredo Mac and Cheese to its menu. Okay, we are INTRIGUED. It’s a Mac and Cheese with a creamy Alfredo sauce, topped with Barbacoa Beef, crispy onions, and green onions for $7.29.

We’re happy to report that this snack tastes as good as it sounds! The beef on top is very tender and has a wonderfully seasoned flavor. The sauce is creamy and herby and just pairs PERFECTLY with the Mac and Cheese and beef. The crispy onions add additional flavor and crunch, although when you take a bite of everything, that onion flavor gets a little drowned out.

You also get a lot of meat for the cost, especially coming in at under $8. The green onions are fresh, but again, their flavor gets a little overpowered by everything else. The sauce is the star of the show, after all, and we were licking every last bit of it up off the container (don’t judge us!). We would absolutely order this again (and we will).

So we’ve got yet ANOTHER amazing menu item in Animal Kingdom, which just keeps blowing all the other Disney World parks out of the water when it comes to food. So be sure to pop by Eight Spoon Cafe next time you’re in the area, and check it out.
