Dreadwolf will “likely” be at Summer Game Fest – WGB

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, which was officially announced in 2018 but has was reportedly in development as far back as 2015, may finally be getting a full reveal at the Summer Game Fest, according to a new report.

The information comes from Insider Gaming, a typically reliable website. Brandon Morgan writes: “According to insider reports, which we’re working to corroborate, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will receive a full reveal this week, likely during Summer Game Fest. Whether it happens during the Summer Game Fest Showcase, Xbox Games Showcase, or elsewhere, however, remains to be seen.”

Admittedly, Dreadwolf finally making its long-awaited appearance at Summer Game Fest is actually a very safe bet. It was officially announced at the end of 2023 that it would get a “full reveal” in Summer 2024, and Summer Game Fest is the biggest event in that timeframe, making it a likely choice of stage.

Furthermore, just recently Dragon Age: Dreadwolf suddenly popped up on the Xbox Game Pass app on mobile, including a pre-download option, although the file was a placeholder. It’s also listed on the Xbox store, but not anywhere else currently.

This could be because Xbox has a marketing deal for the game. BioWare has typically teamed up with Xbox to market its previous games. Of course, that doesn’t mean the game is going to be exclusive to Xbox, it just means marketing material will heavily feature the Xbox brand. The fact that the game appeared on the Game Pass app is also presumably because EA Play, EA’s own subscription, is included as part of Game Pass Ultimate.

If the Xbox marketing deal theory is correct, then Dreadwolf will mostly likely make its proper debut at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9.
