Kill the Justice League becomes unplayable for the 2nd time in just 24-hours – WGB

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is not having a very good start. Rocksteady’s first game in a very long time has been taken offline twice now in just 24-hours, leaving people unable to play it despite paying for early access via the game’s Deluxe Edition.

Those who opted to buy the Deluxe Edition of the game were able to start playing 72 hours before the game’s “launch” on February 2. Within just hour of that early access period starting in Australia the game’s servers were taken offline due to a bug where players were logging on to find they had somehow already completed the entire story. Rocksteady’s took the servers offline to get the problem fixed, and put then up a few hours later.

Then at 11:22am this morning, Rocksteady announced they would be taking the servers offline again for “scheduled maintenance” at 3:30 AM PT/ 6:30 AM ET/ 11:30 AM GMT. They did go back up in just under 2 hours.

On top of server issues, many players have also reported being unable to redeem the extra goodies that come with the Deluxe Edition.

It has all added up to some rather pissed off players who feel like they shelled out extra cash so they could play early, only to have a good chunk of their extra playtime taken away thanks to problems that arguably should have been addressed well before the game ever came out. Sadly, multiplayer and live-service titles often launch in less than ideal states these days, although I’m not yet sure if the live-service tag really applies to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. I’ll find out when my boring old regular copy of the game turns up on February 2.

There is at least a silver lining, though: a lot of people do seem to be enjoying the game thus far. After a lot of negative press leading up to its release, including an IGN preview so scathing that Warner Bros. has seemingly denied them any review codes, it’s heartening to see people having fun with it. It gives me hope that it plays a lot better than it showed.

Be wary of spoilers out there though, folks: they are rampant.
